When my son was an infant, I read board books to him. He was not strong enough to lift his head, but when I turned to his favorite page, he kicked the air and pumped his fists. Cooing sounds gurgled out of his tiny O mouth. That was when I truly appreciated the impact of art and stories.
     I met my future husband at art school, we graduated and entered the commercial art field. I loved it. I even dipped my toes into the fine art world. We raised our two sons and they too have gone the creative route.
     My husband has been gone awhile now, and my thoughts nudge me a little deeper. Questions of what matters and why and what to do about it, "ping" inside my head. I do believe art and stories are how we refine our society. I believe there is no limit to our imaginations, especially a child's. And, I believe reading to a child is one of the most rewarding things you can do, for them and you.
     I recently decided to enter the serious business of publishing by writing and illustrating not so serious picture books. I like to imagine the little O's spilling out of children's mouths when they open my book.
     My illustrations have been published by Sunrise Greeting Cards, Flying Colors Poster Art, and McDonald's. My silkscreen art on garments has been purchased by US Olympics, USA Sports, NFL, NHL, NBL, MLB and numerous souvenir and western clothing companies.
